ItoM's unique position in radio design
In the 1990's ItoM designed the first AM and FM hifi stereo radios in the world WITHOUT external components, using standard BiCMOS IC technology. Due to a great number of patents in the LNA, oscillator, mixer, AGC, harmonic distortion, stereo decoder and other IP (e.g. Integration of large time constants patent) ItoM enabled its customers to supply these unique radios to their customers. These products gave a great return of investment to the IC manufactures and ease of implementation to the set makers.
Our most recent designs, which are based on the first generation chips, were made in standard 65nm RF CMOS. These radios combine a full equipped FM receiver with R(B)DS, a FM transmitter with SureTune and R(B)DS on a Bluetooth SoC. The fully digital backend of the IC embodies the unique ItoM microprocessor and its embedded software.

IP Solutions on Radio
A great number of patents are still pending, others have been granted in the US, Europe, Japan and the rest of the world. These patents are dedicated for all kind of receivers. Dedicated patents for FM and AM radio can be found in the patent list of the ItoM web site.
A continues drive towards better internal antenna circuitry (to minimize outsite antenna size), better sensitivity, better selectivity, lower power consumption, smaller chip size by applying new IP (ULIF = Ultra Low IF), thus making the radio suitable for combinations with Bluetooth, Baseband, Wifi, GPS and TV SoC solutions.
